TigerJython - Turtle mit Listen und Tupels ...

Die Programmiersprache "TigerJython" ist mit Java programmiert worden und bietet eine integrierte Entwicklungsumgebung (IDE) , die sich zumeist an "Python" anlehnt, aber auch eigene syntaktische Regeln enthält.

Die "Turtlegrafik" eignet sich nicht nur für einen einfachen Einstieg ins Programmieren, sondern mit der Turtle-Programierung können praktisch alle wichtigen Programmierkonzepte anschaulich aufgezeigt werden. Unsere Turtlegrafik verwendet eine globale Turtle, welche die Programme für Programmiereinsteiger vereinfacht. Man kann aber auch mehrere Turtle-Objekte verwenden und die Grundprinzipien der objekt-orientierten Programmierung (OOP) aufzeigen. TigerJython eignet sich besonders gut für den semiprofessionellen Gebrauch, aber auch für den Einsatz im Informatikunterricht an Realschulen, Gymnasien und Berufsschulen.

And here we go. For the full experience I would recommend reading while listening to THIS SONG. Whew. I'm so glad to finally be done with these big updates. After over a year I will finally be able to return to my smaller update format.

Some keen viewers might notice the reuse of certain shots from the series. There is very much intentional, though the reason for this will not be made clear until the ending of the arc.

As of the final shot we are FINALLY back to present-day in the Replica timeline (if it wasn't obvious). I'd drop in a timeline for reference but uh... I maxed out on the Tumblr images. Oh well. Hopefully the context clues were enough to help though!

I do want to take a moment to TED Talk about Raph's ninpo, if that's alright. Unlike his brothers, Raph didn't really spend much time trying to come up with unique ways of using his abilities. Why improve what already worked for him? However, I do think one interesting ability could have come naturally to him over time. I always found his way of mentally connecting with his brothers as "Mind Raph" to be a fascinating joke in the series. They way he could help and communicate with his brothers is something that was always really important to him and I see that ability bleeding into his ninpo. Because of this I feel that his Raph clones were always able to find and reach his brothers no matter the distance. His ability to interact with them at the same time was something he was still learning in the series, like when Mind Raph apologized to Leo for taking a moment too long to respond because he was busy helping someone else. Because of this I see his clones being able to react and communicate independently (kind of like Naruto clones), but are in constant connection to the original source, Raph himself. This made it really easy for Raph to relay information to the brothers, though it was seldom needed since Donnie's ninpo tech normally had that covered. On another note, I also wanted to make a point that whenever one of the brothers died in the bad future timeline, it was when they were separated from their brothers. I always liked in the movie how it wasn't until the brothers worked together that they were able to regain their abilities, confront the Krang, and even open portals to different dimensions. I wanted that lesson to resonate in Replica as well, even if subtly. Anyways, thanks for coming to my TED Talk!

The rest of the arc will be a lot less action, but still plenty more emotions. I can't promise that we won't be doing more flashbacks in the future but nothing to the extent of the "Holiday Special." We got a story to get through after all!

Friends, the ammount of fanart I've wanted to draw since I saw that movie is not even funny. Some of you may know that my creativity is fuled by two things: beauty and angst. In short I was shot full of hyperfuel and promptly given no time to draw.

I really should should draw Kendra more considering her's and Donnie's dynamic was one of the first things I came up with for the AU. I've already brought up how Donnie first met Kendra in this comic right here, but not really what happens after that.

But basically, because they meet way earlier in the AU, they basically manage to befriend each other. Kendra is really intrigued in general by Donnie because man it's not every day you meet a mutant turtle, then they figure out that they're both tech nerds and suddenly they're friends. It's just that their friendship actually consists of them larping being mortal enemies cuz they think it's fun and also they're weird. They're both very competetive so they will battle each other as a way to show off and test their new tech XD at the same time they will just hang out regularly sometimes and exchange tips and ideas. Donnie and Kendra being pals eventually leads to Jeremy and Jason finding out about Donnie and the whole turtle thing, so then they all start hanging out XD

It would be so funny if Rise Donnie & Cassandra had a constant Battle of Wills going on- NOT because he thinks she's still evil or because they hate each other -but because he keeps trying to plant a sub-dermal tracker on her in the most fucked-up declaration of familial acceptance possible and she keeps dodging his knock-out darts.

The golden 4 of drawing ASL for comics

*I am not Deaf, CODA, or a licensed interpreter. That being said, I took all level classes and practice regularly. So while I can get a license...idk I just don't feel like it lol. I got a speech disorder so that's why I learned it.

That being said, I'm pretty sure I know what I'm doing--

1) Staging

Most comic artists are aware when you draw 2 people talking, you gotta stage it so that the last thing person A says flows into the first thing person B says. This staging makes the interaction feel more natural and lively.

Same rule applies to ASL. The last thing person A signs should flow into the first thing person B signs.

2) Grammar

ASL is its own language, not a word-by-word cipher! It has its own directs, styles, and grammar rules. Here's a chart:

So in that case, you must understand how an English sentence is written in ASL. And THEN determine what is the REAL last sign of person A and first sign of person B.

Much better!

3) Emphasis

Given the context, the same sentence can be said very differently. Usually we yell louder when the context is more urgent or exciting.

Same applies to ASL. Our signs become more expressive depending on the context. Don't forget that facial expressions play a role in grammar!

4) Style

Everyone 👏 signs 👏 differently! 👏 If you've met one Deaf person, you've met one Deaf person. Each ASL user has/will have their own unique style. Heck, there’s a thing called Black ASL which is derived of stylized signs used in Black Deaf culture.

Take the time to know your characters. Their personality, their culture, their environment, and how they learned ASL to begin with. These factors will help each of your characters stand out a bit more and make their signing fit their traits.

Love the thought of Leo just casually being well traveled to absurd degrees. Like one day they’re facing their new Big Bad of the year and like, Draxum or whoever says that the key to their fight is located somewhere in, like, Latvia or some place, but no one knows where to start.

Then Leo’s like “oh I know a place” and when asked how the heck he could know of one it smash cuts to Leo falling through the ceiling of said place due to a portal mishap.

Also love the idea of Leo, being as accidentally (and then later, purposefully) well traveled as he is, sometimes taking his family on outings to different places all over, maybe to some new Yokai spots he found along the way.

In these places, Leo 100% lets his bros get scammed by tourist traps.

Do you ever think about Leo and how he’s the king of Insomnia?

He knows a little something about what it’s like to be haunted. To have your bones ache with the ghosts of weary exhaustion; a feeling that unfortunately more often than not makes one feel more dead than alive.

He understands the drag of having to pry your eyes open for just another day, plaster on a smile that stopped feeling real years ago and then attempt to go at it with only half energy in your cup.

Leo understands the rolling around feelings of restlessness, like the waves of a dyspeptic ocean, never settling.

Never still enough to ever find peace.

So can you imagine when Leo finds out one way or another (as he so often does, clever turtle that he is) that somehow you are plagued with a similar state of mind?

It may be for various reasons: work, family, life, responsibilities etc etc and despite the variety of it all, he probably would get it more than most. For despite all the differences, there is a startling amount of connection, a unique relateablilty if you will, between the two of you, that unconsciously draws him close. It’s because of this connection that his heart just… sinks. Leo may very well be a swashbuckling charismatic pirate for all these years he’s learned to travail against his insomnia seas. But you…

You are no such experienced sailor.

The waters of sleep are relentless in their cruelty in their attempt to escape you. And ever in lucks favor, and that being none at all, you are found hopelessly drifting, never to find your own serenity amongst the ever agitated waves.

Perhaps it is that fabled connection that draws Leo close to you tonight, or the fact that you were starting to look like a pale, drawn out tired sail, more than Leo ever cared to see.

He had seen enough ghosts in his own mirrored reflections. Your eyes did not need the weight of such horrors. They were last place he ever wanted to see haunted.

So with actions trickling from his own well of compassion, Leo wordlessly sweeps you up into the cradle of his arms, even despite your indignant squawk something reminiscent of a seagull’s cry. Not that he minds or even will admit to ever listening to you as he begins to rock you.

Back and forth. Back and forth. Back. And. Forth.

Despite all his bravado, Leo never truly believed he was ever worthy of the title of hero. He would fight everything and everyone, including himself, to prove it to the world, to prove it to you, if he could.

And yet…there was something empowering about the feeling of you in his hold.

The way your eyelashes fluttered slowly shut, the hitches of your breath steadied and the planes of your face smoothed. Leo didn’t feel the need to take on the world, not anymore, not when his whole entire world was now here resting in the security of his arms. And so, much like a boat resting in the embrace of the calmest waves, Leo rocks you in the simplest of sways, humming the softest of tunes as he holds you close against his plastron. Silently praying that the beat of his heart would be the siren’s call that would set the rhythm for which you could finally fall asleep. Back and forth. Back and forth. Back. And. Forth.

What, you thought there wasn't going to be some drama in this holiday special?? Do you even know me???

Also, see?? Leo’s doing fine! It’s been a few years since the last post so he’s had plenty of time to set up all his unhealthy coping mechanisms.

Whew, I have to say this special is easily the most extensive thing I've done so far for Replica. This is the only time we'll probably see the Central Park Colony in its hay day so wanted to make the effort to show what I could. I love visual story telling, but hate doing backgrounds haha, it's a problem! I'll admit this is a lot messier than what I've been doing as of late but we're just going to have to deal since we have so much ground to cover. It might get messier, I make no promises. Next up, I think Casey and Raph need to have a talk.

A huge ancient city has been found in the Amazon, hidden for thousands of years by lush vegetation.

The discovery changes what we know about the history of people living in the Amazon.

The houses and plazas in the Upano area in eastern Ecuador were connected by an astounding network of roads and canals.

The area lies in the shadow of a volcano that created rich local soils but also may have led to the destruction of the society.

While we knew about cities in the highlands of South America, like Machu Picchu in Peru, it was believed that people only lived nomadically or in tiny settlements in the Amazon.

"This is older than any other site we know in the Amazon. We have a Eurocentric view of civilisation, but this shows we have to change our idea about what is culture and civilisation," says Prof Stephen Rostain, director of investigation at the National Centre for Scientific Research in France, who led the research.

"It changes the way we see Amazonian cultures. Most people picture small groups, probably naked, living in huts and clearing land - this shows ancient people lived in complicated urban societies," says co-author Antoine Dorison.

The city was built around 2,500 years ago, and people lived there for up to 1,000 years, according to archaeologists.

It is difficult to accurately estimate how many people lived there at any one time, but scientists say it is certainly in the 10,000s if not 100,000s.

The archaeologists combined ground excavations with a survey of a 300 sq km (116 sq mile) area using laser sensors flown on a plane that could identify remains of the city beneath the dense plants and trees.

"The road network is very sophisticated. It extends over a vast distance, everything is connected. And there are right angles, which is very impressive," he says, explaining that it is much harder to build a straight road than one that fits in with the landscape.

The scientists also identified causeways with ditches on either side which they believe were canals that helped manage the abundant water in the region.

There were signs of threats to the cities - some ditches blocked entrances to the settlements, and may be evidence of threats from nearby people.

Researchers first found evidence of a city in the 1970s, but this is the first time a comprehensive survey has been completed, after 25 years of research.

It reveals a large, complex society that appears to be even bigger than the well-known Mayan societies in Mexico and Central America.

Some of the findings are "unique" for South America, he explains, pointing to the octagonal and rectangular platforms arranged together.

The societies were clearly well-organised and interconnected, he says, highlighting the long sunken roads between settlements.

Not a huge amount is known about the people who lived there and what their societies were like.

Pits and hearths were found in the platforms, as well as jars, stones to grind plants and burnt seeds.

Prof Rostain says he was warned against this research at the start of his career because scientists believed no ancient groups had lived in the Amazon.

Part 1

Mikey’s finally regained enough strength and control after the Krang to work on a mural concept he’s had on his mind for a while. I wonder what he’s been itching to create…

This comic started out as a way to explore Donnie’s affectionate side, basically to dismantle the bad boy image he oh so believes he has (you’re not fooling me donnie boy), but I want to expand it to the other guys too, a sort of “exploring their love languages” kind of thing.

I sketched out the panels and dialogue ages ago but I was about to scrap it because I thought it was bad. But you know what? Fuck that. I’ve never made a comic series before and that was my childhood dream. Don’t worry child me, I’ll make it real one way or another.
